Henry Jesse Brown, Jr.

Henry Jesse Brown, Jr., beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle joined his heavenly Father in eternal rest on 23 March 2010.

He was born on 26 August 1939 in Savannah, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Davine Anne Brown to whom he has been married for 27 years. He was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Henry Jesse Brown, Sr. and Mildred D. Brown of Savannah, Georgia. His beloved family includes brothers, Theodore Brown of Savannah, Georgia and The Rev. Daniel Brown of Augusta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Donna Brown; daughter, Virginia Kirby with her husband Len of Huddleston, Virginia and a son, Henry Jesse Brown, III with his wife Cheryl of Savannah, Georgia; one stepson, Glenn Urbanz of Stiltson, Georgia; beloved grandchildren, Danielle Kirby, Jesse Kirby, Robert Brown and Stephen Brown; great-grandchild, Jaydon Kirby; great aunt, Carolyn Jeffcoat; niece, Carolyn Miller and nephew, Christopher Brown.

Henry Jr. was affectionately known as "Uncle Henry" and "Mr. Wonderful". He was a graduate of Savannah High. While in Savannah he was a member of the Chatham County Mounted Sheriff's Posse, Savannah Painters Union. He worked for Henry Brown, Sr., Painting & Decorating. He and Davine married and lived in Murrayville, Georgia. There he was a faithful long term member of the United Church of God. He was also a lead singer and talented musician in the Waulka Mountain Bluegrass Band.

Family will receive friends at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Thursday 25 March 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Services will follow on Friday 26 March 2010 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with interment following at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.

Remembrances may be made to the Georgia Council of the Blind, 850 Gaines School Rd., Athens, Georgia 30605.
